Floral Guernsey and Guernsey Prison have been working together to provide planters for local primary schools. Some of which will have a special purpose.
Floral Guernsey Schools Co-ordinator, Gerry Tattersall said “ I knew the prision were looking to become involved in a new community project and following a request for new wooden planters from St Martins school, came the idea of the prisoners at Guernsey Prison making the new wooden planters”.
The Floral Guernsey Schools Team have won the 'Organising Committee of the Year' award at the Guernsey Community Foundation, Community Awards 2014. The award is in recognition of the Magical Days in the Park education event that saw over 1700 children attend workshops and activities in Saumarez Park in July. We are all very proud!
St Peter Port won a Gold Award at the 2014 RHS Britain in Bloom Regional Finals competition and was crowned overall winners in the 'Large Coastal Towns over 12,000 Residents' category. St Peter Port beat the other entrants in this category - Filey in Yorkshire, Hunstanton in Anglia, Sidmouth in Devon, St Andrews in Scotland and Tenby in Wales.

The local parishes taking part in the Floral Guernsey Community competition awards have been recognised for their outstanding horticultural achievements at this year’s awards ceremony. The judges commended Guernsey on it’s consistnently hign standards across the board.
