Community Competition 2014

The local parishes taking part in the Floral Guernsey Community competition awards have been recognised for their outstanding horticultural achievements at this year’s awards ceremony. The judges commended Guernsey on it’s consistnently hign standards across the board.

“The huge amount of work put in each year by the floral groups contributes to making Guernsey an amazingly beautiful place for people to live in and for visitors to enjoy” said Senior UK judge Jean Griffin. “I have really enjoyed seeing how communitties have come together to share their knowledge and expertise and give their time freely for the benefit of others to enhance where they live”

John Woodward, Community Competition co-ordinator said “ It is very rewarding to see so many hard working, dedicated volunteers being recognised for all their efforts. We look forward to seeing the overall winner representing Guernsey at the RHS Britain in Bloom Regional finals next year.”
