Community Competition 2026
The annual Floral Guernsey Awards Dinner is a celebration and thank you to all those communities and individuals whose projects have helped the Bailiwick look at its best for the benefit of visitors and locals alike.
Around a hundred floral volunteers and invited guests from Guernsey, Jersey, Herm and Alderney attended the event on 3rd September at Les Cotils. Drinks in the bar were followed by an excellent meal.
Entertainment for the evening was provided by magician Lars Henningson – we are still trying to figure out how he did it!
Our patron Dame Mary Perkins was in attendance, and we were also joined by our Chief Minister Lindsay de Sausmarez. Paddy Whitford represented the John Ramplin Charitable Trust and we are very grateful for their extremely generous donation to our charity this year.
Afterwards the winners were announced by Chairman, John Woodward, with comments from local Judge, Gary le Poidevin. Our RHS judge Rae Beckwith was unable to attend due to fog.
Judges Rae and Gary had both been very impressed with the high standards throughout and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of seeing the wide variety of gardening expertise and enthusiasm of the participants.
